Today — Saturday November 26, 2016 — is shop local on Small Business Saturday!
According to research from the United States Small Business Administration, 28 million small businesses in America account for 54% of all U.S. sales.
Another way to say it is this: small, local businesses are the largest employer both locally and nationally.
Today’s the day to show the love of the unique stores where our friends, family, and neighbors work.
Why?
When you buy from an independent, locally-owned business, your money strengthens the economic base of the community and encourages local prosperity.
Shopping locally also has less environmental impact because local purchases require less transportation.
